By Sunil Punjabi of SEO-SEM Professionals
Weight Loss or Losing enough weight to confirm to health and medical requirements is the need of the hour in these fast, hectic, and modern times. Even a century ago, being overweight was considered a mark of affluence and a person was considered rich and well off if they were overweight. Earlier, people gained weight due to overeating, indulgence in high calorie food items, or a sedentary lifestyle. But in modern times, weight gain is not only due to the earlier issues, but also due to junk food. As the adverse health effects of being overweight became known, the urge to lose weight and lead a healthier and longer life led to the evolution of a countless number of Weight Loss programs. Weight Loss programs have been in existence ever since the awareness for losing weight became known, and the demand increased for a method to lose weight. There are many Weight Loss programs in existence today, some good, some not so good. Some programs may work for many, but may not work for others. There is no single Weight Loss program, which works for every individual, and gives the same results for every individual. This does not mean that a Weight Loss program that works for someone you know and does not work for you is bad. It just means that the Weight Loss program is not effective enough for you physically. It is not necessary to spend money on a Weight Loss program. You can analyze and devise your own Weight Loss program, as you are the best judge of what works and what doesn’t for your body. You can read books on the ideal weight for your body, which is generally calculated according to your height. Once you know the ideal weight to achieve for your body, you should calculate the weight you need to lose. Then set an achievable target weight to lose every month. Most people fail because they set an unrealistic and unhealthy target like trying to lose 15-30 kilos in a month. The ideal Weight Loss should be around 3-5 kilos a month. Analyze your lifestyle, quantity and quality of food you eat, and the time you eat. Then devise a plan to gradually cut down on the Quantity of the food that you eat. Avoid eating some of the high calorie foods, or if you cant avoid these foods, like chocolates, at least cut down on the quantity. Every week, you should cut down a little bit, until you reach the ideal quantity required to work without losing efficiency or feeling sick. Stick to this diet for at least a month to see the result. You should also do some light exercises or walk briskly for at least an hour every day. But if you feel that you will not be able to devise or stick to your program and regime by yourself, you always have the option to join a Weight Loss program. Many Weight Loss programs also advise and provide supplementary diet food and medication for extremely overweight people. All Weight Loss programs will advise you to cut down on your food intake and do some exercise for the program to be effective. Whether you devise your own program, or join a weight Loss program, it is important that you take the first step towards losing weight, and a happy, healthy, and long life.
